Equipment Needed on Fit Frog Snowshoe and Ski Days

TRY THEM ON!! Before you accept a piece of rental equipment make sure you learn how it works. Find out about gear problems before you are knee deep in snow!!! Each rental place has different brand name snowshoes and each brand has a different technique for sizing. Talk to Lori at Fit Frog for more details.

Snowshoeing: DO NOT GET “SMALL” SNOWSHOES!! The snow is quite dry in Alberta which means you sink more than you would in wet, eastern snow. Small snowshoes do not work well in dry snow. Most people can use Medium  snowshoes but ask for  Large snowshoes if you are quite tall or heavy.

-Poles are optional.  Downhill ski poles work great!

-Boots like Sorrels work well or waterproof hiking boots if it is not too cold.
