Mount Hoffman hike is the perfect first summit hike for beginner hikers. Beginning in Sheep River Provincial Park in the southern part of Kananaskis (about an hour southwest of Calgary), the Tiger Jaws Waterfalls and the Sheep River Gorge are the first impressive sights along the trail. A gradual climb follows along with one steep section before the trail opens up to meadows and stunning panoramic views.
Red Deer Lake Church parking lot, Hwy 22X, just west of Stoney Trail, Hwy 201. Turn left at the lights at 53 St. SW then left on Spruce Meadows Green.
From the meet place, we will travel to Diamond Valley (the Turner Valley end) and into Sheep River, Kananaskis.
