DESCRIPTION:Description:\nJoin us for a wonderful beginner foothills summit hike close to Calgary. We’ll head southwest of Calgary to the foothills near Millarville to hike to big views (we’ll see the city!) atop Mesa Butte. This little summit hike is little known but so close to the city. A great one to add to your year-round hiking! After the hike we’ll take a quick detour to the Leighton Art Centre to do a stroll on the trails and soak up the spectacular views. \nMeet Place:\nMeet at Red Deer Lake Church \nDirections:\nHwy 22 south of Calgary \nDistance/Length:\nRated* (MOD)\, 8 km + 400 meters elevation gain: 4+ hours hiking time\, including lunch stop \n*Please see the drop menu below for an explanation of ratings \nCarpool Option:\nWhen possible\, carpooling will be arranged from the meeting place.
