DESCRIPTION:Description:\n\nThis hike has it all\, starting in the forest before traversing a beautiful grassy meadow and then gaining elevation in the alpine as you climb to the ridge. The views are spectacular throughout the hike. \n\nMeet Place:\nAllen Bill trailhead\, Elbow Falls Trail (Hwy 66) Kananaskis \nDirections:\nThis trailhead is about a 45-55 minute drive from Calgary. \n\nAccess Hwy. 66 from Hwy. 22 (Hwy. 22 becomes Hwy. 66) or from Hwy. 8 (Glenmore Trail West).\nFollow Hwy. 66 into Kananaskis Country\nGo past the Information Centre and watch for the “Allen Bill” sign.\nThe sign and parking are just past the Elbow River Crossing at the bottom of a long\, gradual hill.\n\nDistance/Length:\nRated (MOD)\, 10 km + 450 up to 600 meters (extra 150 optional) elevation gain: 4-5 hours hiking time \nCarpool Option:\nWhen possible\, carpooling will be arranged from the meeting place.

DESCRIPTION:Description:\nWe’ll hike the neighbourhoods\, river trails\, and the High Line Trail trail in Canmore. We’ll walk along the Bow River towards the Three Sisters mountain ranges before walking the Highline Trail. We’ll stop in downtown Canmore for a coffee post-hike if you have time. Bring lunch for the hike and we will eat along the trail. You should be back in Calgary by 3-4 pm (depending on if you stop for a coffee).\n*Lunch cost not included.  \nRegistration & Fees:\nWant to join us? There is official parking and street parking along the park at 5 Ave and 5 St. \nDirections:\nTake Hwy 1 to Canmore \nDistance/Length:\nRated (MOD)\, 12 km + 500 meters elevation gain: 4-5 hours on trail. \nCarpool Option:\nWhen possible\, carpooling will be arranged from the Shell station in Calgary. The Highwood Pass closes on Dec. 1 so we’ll enjoy the final day snowshoeing a forested path before entering a spectacular cirque with big views all around. \nRegistration & Fees:\nWant to join us? Drive west on Hwy 1 to Hwy 40 turnoff. \nDirections:\nAfter we meet up we will continue on Hwy. 40 to the Highwood Pass Parking lot. \nDistance/Length:\nRated (MOD)\, 8 km + 300 meters elevation gain. Approx. 4 hours on the trail. \nCarpool Option:\nIf you would like to carpool please arrange amoungst yourselves. I suggest meeting at the Shell Station on Hwy 1 at Bowfort Road.
