SUMMARY:Multi-Day Hike: Field & Lake Louise\, Yoho and Banff National Parks
DESCRIPTION:Description:\nTreat yourself to a 3-day hiking getaway! We’ll carpool from Calgary bright and early on day 1 to our first larch hike at Healy Pass in Banff National Park. This Parks Canada Trail is well maintained and allows for beautiful views of many gorgeous peaks and Egypt Lake.  The hike starts with a wide\, rolling trail that narrows as you go. The lush forest and the bridge over Healy Creek are stunning\, submerging you in the idyllic natural universe of the Canadian Rockies. We’ll take Simpson pass through meadows\, past lakes before entering the golden larch-filled alpine meadows that lead to Healy Pass. Views of lakes and waterfalls and peak upon peak are your reward. Post-hike\, we continue west to Field BC in Yoho National Park. You arrange your own accommodation at either the Truffle Pigs Lodge & Bistro or at one of the many guesthouses in Field.  This multi-day trip is a stand-alone event and not part of the session membership packages. \nDate and Duration:\nSunday\, September 25 @ 7:30 am – Tuesday\, September 27\, 2022 @ 6:00 pm \nCost and How to Register\nCost per person: $140 per person for those who are registered in a Club Fit Frog Fall membership package that includes mountain hikes or $240 per person for all others not registered in a Club  Fit Frog membership package that includes mountain hikes. \n SINGLE HIKES option: If you would like to attend any one or two of these hikes\, but not the entire getaway\, please choose the single hike option from the “Drop In” hikes menu.  Register here!  \nWhat’s Included:\n\nThree Club Fit Frog hikes\nA tasty Fit Frog gourmet hikers snack pack for hikes 2 and 3\ncoordination and planning for all three hikes\nGroup dinner coordination – Truffle Pigs Bistro\n\nWhat’s not included? Accommodation and meals (see below) \nMeet Place:\nWe will meet at the Shell Gas Station across from COP in Calgary \nDirections:\nOn day 1 we drive to our first hike\, Healy Pass\, in Banff National Park\, followed by a drive to Field. The hikes will be confirmed closer to September 25\, but some possible hikes are listed below. \nPossible Hikes:\nThere are many hike options in the area and the hikes could change based on conditions. Here’s a sample of possible hikes: \n\nDAY 1: Healy & Simpson Passes\n\n20 km round trip\n700 metres elevation\n6-7hours hiking (including lunch break)\nDifficulty: MOD/INT\n\n\nDay 2: The Iceline Trail\, Yoho National Park\n\n12 km round trip\n710 metres elevation gain\n6 hours of hiking (including lunch break)\nDifficulty: INT\n\n\nDay 3 option: Sentinal Pass & Larch Valley\, Lake Louise \n\n11 km round trip\n800 metres elevation\n5-6 hours hiking (including lunch break)\nDifficulty: MOD/ INT\n\n\nDay 3 option: Helen Lake & beyond\, Banff National Park\n\n13-15 km round trip\n500-700 metres elevation\n5-6 hours hiking (including lunch break)\nDifficulty: MOD\n\n\nDay 3 option: Bow Glacier Falls\, Banff National Park\n\n9 km round trip\n300 metres elevation gain\n3-4 hours hiking (including lunch)\nDifficulty: AL/MOD\n\n\n\nAccommodation and Meals\nAccommodation in Field\, BC: Book a room in Field\, either at Truffle Pigs Lodge & Bistro (from $150 per night) or at one of the many guest houses in Field. It is also possible to camp near Field.  Keen to share a room? Ask Lori about sharing a room as there may be people who would like to do this. \nMeals: You will have the option to join the group for a delicious meal at the Truffle Pigs Bistro (so delicious\, check out the menu) or plan your own meal. Bring your own items for breakfast and lunch. (as we will be leaving by 8 am and the restaurants in Field are not open until mid-morning). Most guest houses have kitchenettes with fridges and coffee makers and the hotel may have a room with a kitchenette or at least a fridge. \nCancellation\nClub Fit Frog portion: This amount CAN be used for another Fit Frog program if you decide not to attend the weekend and advise Fit Frog of this 1 week before the first day.  The payment is fully transferrable.

Views of lakes and waterfalls and peak upon peak are your reward. \nMeet Place:\nSunshine Ski Hill Parking Lot\, Banff National Park (drive all the way to the Sunshine ski hill parking lots and the lodges\, at the end of the road) \nDirections:\nHwy 1 (Trans Canada) west to Sunshine Ski Hill (just west of the town of Banff) \nDistance/Length:\nRated MOD/INT: 20 km + 700 metres elevation gain. 6+ hours hiking \nCarpool Option:\nWhen possible\, carpooling will be arranged from the Shell station in Calgary.
