DESCRIPTION:Description:\nThe trail to Lillian Lake and the Galatea Lakes follows a forested trail alongside Galatea Creek\, crisscrossing bridges until Lillian Lake comes into view. The 1 km climb to Galatea lake offers spectacular views followed by more hiking to Guinn’s Pass where we get a view of Ribbon Lake and the entire Kananaskis Valley. \nMeet Place:\nGalatea trailhead\, HWY 40 (or carpooling could be arranged from the Shell station at COP in Calgary). About 1 hour 15 minutes drive from Calgary. \nDirections:\nHwy 1 (Trans Canada) west to Hwy 40. Continue along Hwy 40 to the Galatea trailhead\, just past the Village of Kananaskis. \nDistance/Length:\nRated INT/ADV: RETURN trip to: Lillian Lake is 12.5 km + 475 metres round trip; Galatea Lake is 17 km +675 metres elevation gain; Guinn’s Pass is 19 km + 1055 metres evelation gain \nCarpool Option:\nWhen possible\, carpooling will be arranged from the Shell station in Calgary. It is not guaranteed but may be an option.

DESCRIPTION:Description:\nMount Hoffman hike is the perfect first summit hike for beginner hikers. Beginning in Sheep River Provincial Park in the southern part of Kananaskis (about an hour southwest of Calgary)\, the Tiger Jaws Waterfalls and the Sheep River Gorge are the first impressive sights along the trail. A gradual climb follows along with one steep section before the trail opens up to meadows and stunning panoramic views. \nMeet Place:\nRed Deer Lake Church parking lot\, Hwy 22X\, just west of Stoney Trail\, Hwy 201. Turn left at the lights at 53 St. SW then left on Spruce Meadows Green. \nDirections:\nFrom the meet place\, we will travel to Diamond Valley (the Turner Valley end) and into Sheep River\, Kananaskis. \nDistance/Length:\nRated (AL/MOD)\, 8 km + 500* meters elevation gain: 4 hours hiking time \nCarpool Option:\nWhen possible\, carpooling will be arranged from the meet place. It is not guaranteed but may be an option.

Single track trails behind stunning homes lead to hidden pathways that we’ll follow to the Bow River Pathway\, before we cross to the west side of the river and walk south along the new in 2022 paved river path as we loop back. We’ll cross the Bow River and walk through Carburn Park to Beaverdam Flats Park and spectacular views from Lynnwood Ridge. Expect pelicans viewings in the spring and summer and abundant birdlife year-round. \nMeet Place:\nGeorge Moss Park in Ogden.
