Snowshoe: Rummel Lake Snowshoe, Kananaskis

Description:

We’ll climb through treed slopes to wide-open powder and spectacular views of the Spray Lakes and mountain peaks. Onward along a forested path to Rummel Lake.  If snow if abundant this trail allows for lots of powdery off-trail exploration.

Meet Place:

Meet at the Tim HOrton’s, Hwy 40 and Hwy 1 intersection at 8 am (1 hour from Calgary)

Directions:

From Hwy 40 to the Spray lakes Road (Hwy 762). Follow the Spray Lakes Road for about 20-25 minutes, about 5 minutes past the Chester Lake trailhead to a pull-off across from the road that goes to Engadine Lodge.

Distance/Length:

Rated (MOD), 10 km + 400 meters elevation gain: 4-5 hours on trail.

Carpool Option:

When possible, carpooling will be arranged from the meet place. It is not guaranteed but may be an option. If you need to carpool from Calgary please contact Lori to see if it is possible.
