Historic Calgary Week Walk: Connecting Roxboro to Ramsay

July 28 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Description:

Historically, we walked more. Walking is inherently slow and because of this, it is the best way to see behind the scenes of a place, to meet people and get their stories. And it turns out that feeling connected to people and place makes us happier.

Connecting five communities, this route sheds light on the kind of diversity Calgary can pack into a 5-km radius. We’ll start in Roxboro and climb through Roxboro Natural Park to stunning views. Up and over McLeod Trail, we’ll walk through Reader Rock Garden before connecting to Ramsay where variety is the spice of life. Big views from Scotsman’s Hill before we’ll flow with the Elbow River into Mission.

Where and when:

Monday, July 28 at 9:30 am. Meet in Roxboro, at the corner of 30 Avenue and Roxboro Glen Road, SW. Free, no restrictions, parking on 30 Avenue and side streets and at the tennis courts.
The event is FULL, but come anyway, I won’t take attendance. Historic Calgary Week website.

Distance and terrain:

About 7 km, 1.5-2 hours*.
* NOTE: a mix of paved and dirt paths, stairs and hills
