Alberta Wilderness Association walk with Lori: Jackrabbit Trail, SW

October 16, 2025 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Description:

Join Lori and the Alberta Wilderness Association (AWA) for a guided 1.5 hour walk for a guided walk on the Jackrabbit Trail, one of the urban walks featured in her book Calgary’s Best Walks. Register for this walk here: Alberta Wilderness Association Walk with Lori

Wilderness walks with no city noise are urban dwellers’ respite, the antidote to constant connectivity. With over 300 plant species and over 200 species of birds, the Weaselhead trail system is all wild. Chickadees are your constant companions on the Jackrabbit Trail, my favourite Calgary wilderness walk that dips and climbs through the forest just below the popular Glenmore Pathway. Within minutes of the trailhead, you leave the paved path and begin a shaded walk on a rolling, single-track, dirt trail. All along you enjoy intermittent views of the Glenmore Reservoir. Hit the refresh button on your busy city life with a walk in the Weaselhead’s wilderness. A dose of nature calms the mind and engages the senses.

Lori’s books will be for sale at the event.
