Multi-Day Hike to Yoho, Glacier, and Banff National Parks

Treat yourself to a 3-day hiking getaway this summer! We’ll carpool from Calgary bright and early on day 1 to hike the Iceline Trail in Yoho National Park. Post-hike, we continue west to Heather Mountain Lodge, near Golden, BC. Day 2 starts with a tasty breakfast at the lodge followed by a hike to the spectacular Balu Pass in Glacier National Park, just a 10-minute drive from the lodge. Back for supper and relaxation at the lodge as we soak up the mountain views and recharge for day 3, a hike in Banff National Park. We’ll arrive back in Calgary around 5 pm on Day 3. This multi-day trip is a stand-alone event and not part of the session membership packages.

Meet Place:

We will meet at the Petro Can Truck Stop on Hwy. 1 / 22 intersection.

Directions:

Day 1 we drive to Whiskey Jack Hostel parking lot anear the end of the Yoho Valley Road, 17 km east of Field, B.C. via the Trans-Canada Highway and Yoho Valley Road. This trailhead is about a 2.5-hour drive from Calgary.

The Hikes:

There are many hike options so the exact hikes could change based on conditions, but here’s an overview:

1.  July 11: The Iceline Trail and Celeste Lake Loop, Yoho National Park
   • 17.5 km round trip
   • 710 metres elevation gain
   • 6-7 hours of hiking (including lunch break)
   • Difficulty: INT
2. July 12: Balu Pass, Glacier National Park
   • 13 km round trip
   • 780 metres elevation gain
   • 5 hours hiking (including lunch break)
   • Difficulty: MOD/INT
3. July 13: Helen Lake, Banff National Park
   • 13 km round trip
   • 500 metres elevation
   • 5 hours hiking (including lunch break)
   • Difficulty: MOD

What’s Included:

• Two nights accommodation in Heather Mountain Lodges newly renovated guest rooms – double queen beds. Or upgrade to one of our king suite cabins. Upgrade to a luxury cabin for $150/ night.

Cost and How to Pay

Cost per person: $1200* (double occupancy) and $1585* (single occupancy). Ask about sharing a room as there may be people who would like to do this.

Step 1: The Club Fit Frog portion per person is $470. $100 is due upon registration and the remainder is due May 1.  You can pay this via Etransfer to lorib@fitfrog.ca.

Step 2: Please register for the accommodation/meal package directly with Heather Mountain Lodge

• From the homepage, click the red Book Now button. When the Room Search tab comes up, enter the dates of the Fit Frog getaway. Check-in Date: July 11th, 2021 – Check-out Date: July 13th, 2021
• The package can be booked for one or two guests sharing a room. The package is for 2 nights.  It is $730 each (double) and $1115 each (single).  A credit card is required to guarantee the room but no payment will be taken until check-out. See cancellation details below.
• Then enter the Promotional Code:  “Lori “. Click Search for Availability.
• This will bring up a new screen that outlines the package price on a per night basis for either one or two guests. You can click the ‘Lori Beattie’ tab to note the package inclusions.
• Click the Reserve button. This will take you to the Create Reservation page. You simply fill out all of the pertinent details on the Reservation page including a credit card number to HOLD your reservation.
• A Credit Card is required to confirm your reservation. Full payment of accommodation and incidentals is due upon check out.
• Once you have submitted your reservation details and your package has been confirmed, you will receive a booking confirmation by email.
• Please review your booking confirmation and ensure that all details are correct.

Cancellation

Club Fit Frog portion: This amount CAN be used for another Fit Frog program if you decide not to attend the weekend and advise Fit Frog of this on or before June 27. From June 28 onward the full payment is non-refundable. The booking is fully transferable.

Heather Mountain Lodge Cancellation Policy:

• A Credit Card is required to confirm your reservation. Full payment of accommodation and incidentals is due upon check out.
• Cancellation is required 24 hours prior to check-in (3pm) online or by phone. The full room rate will be charged to your Credit Card for cancellation with less than 24-hour notice.
