Lori Beattie: Since 2002 Lori has been writing and publishing best-selling guidebooks. In 2025 Lori published a much expanded 3rd edition of her hugely successful compendium of Calgary’s Best Walks. She is also the author of Calgary’s Best Bike Rides.
Kevin Allen: Author of Our Past Matters: Stories of Gay Calgary; The book is part of a larger project that has achieved national recognition and led to a series of award-winning documentary films, maps, essays, walking tours.

Jim Ellis: Jim wears many hats as the director of the U of C Institute of Humanities and U of C professor of English as well as the author numerous essays and books, including most recently The Poem, the Garden and the World: Poetry and Performativity in Elizabethan England (Northwestern UP, 2023).
